Mia Khalifa’s Message to Cassie Goes Viral Following Diddy’s Arrest.Linh

September 29, 2024 by Linh

Model Mia Khalifa praised Cassie Ventura after her ex Sean “Diddy” Combs was indicted on federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Singer Ventura had an on-and-off relationship with the hip-hop mogul from 2007 and 2018. She sued him in November 2023, accusing him of rape, sexual assault and physical abuse. The case was settled a little more than a day after Ventura filed the lawsuit.

Ventura has been credited for opening the door for others to file their own lawsuits against Combs. In March, Homeland Security raided his homes in Florida and New York.

He was arrested on Monday following a grand jury indictment on multiple counts, including two that carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Representatives for Ventura sent a note to media on Tuesday saying she would not be commenting on the indictment.

Following Combs’ arrest, Khalifa took to X, formerly Twitter, to heap praise on Ventura for speaking up about the alleged abuse.

“All glory to Cassie for her unwavering bravery and vulnerability cracking this case open. May she spend the rest of her days being loved tenderly and healing in peace knowing her voice has saved scores of young women, and validated countless others’ experiences,” Khalifa wrote.

Newsweek contacted Khalifa and Ventura’s representatives by email for comment outside of working hours.

In May, a video showing Combs violently assaulting Ventura at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016 leaked online. She spoke after the video went public and thanked people for “the outpouring of love” she had received.

“Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past,” she wrote on Instagram on May 23.

The “Long Way 2 Go” singer then put a plea out to her followers writing, “My only ask is that EVERYONE open your heart to believing victims the first time. It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in.”

Ventura concluded: “I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone. This healing journey is never ending, but this support means everything to me. Thank you. Love Always, Cassie.”

Combs pleaded not guilty to the charges at a hearing on Tuesday and was denied bail by U.S. Magistrate Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky.

The judge cited “very significant concerns” about Combs’ misuse of illicit substances and “what appears to be anger issues.”

Combs’ attorney Marc Agnifilo vowed to appeal the decision and will state his client’s case to the court at a hearing on Wednesday.
