Police in Argentina revisited the hotel where Liam Payne tragically died last week to collect several items and obtain a list of individuals present on the premises at the time of his death. Payne, 31, fell to his death from a third-floor balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires.
A post-mortem examination revealed that he suffered multiple traumas resulting in an “internal and external hemorrhage.” Nearly a week after the singer’s untimely passing, police returned to the hotel where Payne had been staying.
After spending several hours inside, they removed multiple boxes of evidence labeled “CCTV.” A source close to the investigation stated: “Detectives have all the footage now from Liam’s entire stay – from the moment he checked in to the hours after he died. Police are determined to trace everyone and have also been given a list of all guests as well as visitors. In addition, they have a full list of employees.”

The body of the One Direction singer remains unreleased as further toxicology reports are pending, an Argentina prosecutor announced earlier today.
Payne’s father has flown to Buenos Aires to oversee the repatriation of his son’s remains and has promised to provide police with all he knows about his son’s life to expedite the process. An official from the Public Prosecutor’s Office informed Geoff Payne that the toxicology and histopathological report, which are supplementary to the autopsy, are required before deciding on the release of his son’s body, reports the Mirror.
While the final toxicology results may take weeks to be disclosed, initial findings indicate cocaine exposure, an official told the Associated Press, cautioning that these preliminary results do not accurately reflect the level in his bloodstream at the time of death. The investigation is thorough, involving expert analysis of mobile phones, computers, and security footage, which, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, “require a longer analysis time.”
Additionally, the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office released a statement indicating that the reconstruction of the events, which has included numerous interviews with hotel staff and medical personnel, is “still ongoing.”
The music star was found dead at the scene by police officers and emergency services on October 16, and his body was subsequently transferred to the judicial morgue.
The prosecutor’s office suggested that the musician was alone when the fall happened and appeared to be “going through some kind of outbreak due to substance abuse.” It has been reported that hotel staff made two calls to emergency services, with audio revealing a request for assistance for a guest who was “intoxicated by drugs and alcohol.”
Police in the Argentine capital previously stated that the music star’s hotel room was “in complete disarray” with “various items broken.” They also mentioned that a whiskey bottle, lighter and mobile phone were retrieved from the internal hotel courtyard where Payne’s body was discovered.
