Halle Bailey’s biggest fan might just be her 14-month-old son, Halo!
On March 5, the 24-year-old actress shared a heartwarming video of Halo watching her in Disney’s The Little Mermaid (2023). In the clip, posted on her Instagram Stories and X, the toddler is seen playing with a toy stethoscope as the movie plays in the background.
As the film’s music builds, Halo suddenly turns toward the TV and says, “Momma,” bringing an immediate smile to Bailey’s face. She then asks, “That’s momma?!” but Halo remains captivated by the screen. As the scene continues, he breaks into a big smile and repeats, “Momma!” to which Bailey sweetly responds, “Yeah, that’s momma.”
The emotional moment left the singer-turned-actress in tears as she captioned the post, “Guys, I’m crying. He actually knows Ariel is me.”
A Special Connection to The Little Mermaid
Bailey starred as Ariel in the live-action remake of Disney’s 1989 animated classic. Cast in the lead role in 2019, she brought the beloved character to life in the film, which went on to earn $569.6 million worldwide after its May 2023 release.
Just a few months later, Bailey welcomed Halo, whom she shares with her ex, rapper DDG. She announced his birth in January 2024 with a touching Instagram post, writing:

Last month, Bailey shared another adorable video of Halo bouncing and clapping along to the “Valentine Visualizer” for her song Back and Forth. His aunt, Chloe Bailey, recently told PEOPLE that the little one is already displaying musical talent.
“He’s singing, he’s dancing a lot to Gracie’s Corner,” Chloe shared, referring to the popular kids’ YouTube program. “He’s making beats on his little music machine!”
She also revealed that during a recent shoot, Halo was playing on her Music Production Center (MPC), showing early signs of becoming a musician himself. “That’s going to be my little mini-producer, my little mini-me,” she said proudly.
