BREAKING NEWS: George Kittle Shares Fired-Up Three-Word Reaction to 49ers Re-Signing Kyle Juszczyk.giang

March 19, 2025 by Giang Giang

The San Francisco 49ers have made a key offseason move, re-signing fullback Kyle Juszczyk to a two-year, $8 million deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The decision comes just days after the team surprisingly released Juszczyk, only to bring him back before he could land elsewhere.

News of Juszczyk’s return sent a wave of excitement through the 49ers’ locker room, with tight end George Kittle leading the celebration. Shortly after the signing was announced, Kittle took to Instagram to post a photo of himself, Juszczyk, and running back Christian McCaffrey, captioning it:

“Boys are back”

To drive home the excitement, Kittle paired the post with the song “The Boys Are Back in Town” by Thin Lizzy—an unmistakable signal that he’s thrilled to have his longtime teammate back in the mix.

Juszczyk’s Brief Stint as a Free Agent

Juszczyk, a nine-time Pro Bowler and 2023 first-team All-Pro selection, briefly found himself on the open market after the 49ers released him on Tuesday. The move was initially seen as a cost-cutting decision, but it didn’t take long for the front office to reverse course and bring him back.

During his short-lived free agency, Juszczyk visited the Pittsburgh Steelers, though he ultimately left without a deal—opening the door for San Francisco to strike a new agreement and keep him in the Bay Area.

At 33 years old, Juszczyk remains one of the NFL’s top fullbacks, bringing versatility, leadership, and elite blocking ability to the 49ers’ offense. Over his career, he has racked up 378 receptions for 2,664 yards and 24 total touchdowns (18 receiving, six rushing), proving to be a valuable offensive weapon beyond just his blocking duties.

Kittle and McCaffrey’s Support for Juszczyk

Kittle’s excitement over Juszczyk’s return wasn’t surprising, considering he and McCaffrey were among the first players to react when news broke of his release. Both stars posted tributes to their teammate earlier in the week, signaling just how much Juszczyk means to the 49ers’ locker room and offensive unit.

Now, with their trusted fullback back in the fold, the 49ers’ offensive trio of Kittle, Juszczyk, and McCaffrey remains intact as they prepare for another deep playoff run in the 2024 season.

For Kittle, there’s only one way to sum up the move: The boys are back.
