Despite everything he had been through until his rescue, Shibby had always been an extremely sweet and friendly cat. However, and while the other animals rescued with him were all adopted, his turn was slow in coming.
More than 40 cats were discovered on a property where they were living in deplorable conditions. Hearthside Cats , an animal protection organization based in New York State, as well as 5 other associations joined forces to rescue them.
Among these felines was Shibby , an exceptionally gentle creature. He was cared for by Ashley Anderson , a volunteer at Hearthside Cats . She was immediately touched by his personality.
Shibby had to receive numerous treatments due to eye problems, mouth problems, stomach problems and a facial injury.
“ He’s been through so much and never lost an ounce of his sweet nature ,”
The cat was also born with microphthalmia , a malformation characterized by reduced eye size. He also suffered from entropions for which he underwent successful surgery.
“ He is exceptionally kind, loves cuddles and games ,” says his benefactress. He is not bothered by other cats, even though he comes from a house where there were so many .” He also showed this calm and tenderness during consultations with the veterinarian.

All of the cats rescued with him from the overcrowded property were adopted. Shibby had to wait 2 long years before getting this chance.
His story moved a couple, Julie and Greg . They visited him at the shelter and immediately fell in love with him. Shibby approached the young woman and gave her a kiss on the cheek. That was all it took to seal the adoption.
