Loving dog comforts orphaned kittens, becoming their source of solace.

November 5, 2023 by Nhat Anh

Kona was rescued with her newborns, who grew up and went to their families for life. Her experience as a mother had a positive impact on her, so much so that she couldn’t help but repeat it when she had the opportunity. 5 lucky little ones were able to benefit from his immense affection.

The dog Kona is a golden surrogate mother. She loves taking care of little balls of fur who no longer have parents. This is good because his mistress, Ava , is a volunteer foster family for the animals. Thus, many orphan boarders come to her house, seeking a maternal presence.

This was the case for Fred and Barney , as well as their peers Betty , Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm . These kittens, from 2 separate litters, were not lucky enough to have a mother by their side. In reality, she stopped taking care of them when they were not yet weaned. Members of the Animal Welfare League shelter in Arlington took care of them, before entrusting them to Ava .

A dog with a big heart

The benefactress has prepared a cozy nest for the felines so that they feel at home. They slowly regained their strength in his hands, exploring their environment more every day. With all this hustle and bustle, Kona understood that new kids had arrived at her house. Nothing could make her happier than that, because she fell in love with every kitten she came across.

Since arriving at Ava’s house , after her own rescue, she has been supervising her mistress. She had puppies herself, but that didn’t stop her from taking care of other people’s. It was a vocation for her.

“She was so excited to meet them”

Kona was not immediately able to get to know Ava’s 5 protégés. The siblings were placed in quarantine for health reasons. The doggie was impatient to meet them, and the big day arrived. He was “ over the moon ” according to his owner. The young cats began to climb on her, play with her, and crawl into her fur for warm naps.

The mother dog took great care of them, running over every time she heard crying. Thanks to its presence, the felines were able to build themselves in complete balance. They joined their family for life. For her part, Kona continued to take care of a new litter that arrived in her home.
