“Doc” Roberts – The man who broke the longest All-Star curse in MLB history
The National League (NL) has gone through 9 consecutive years of defeat against the American League (AL) at the All-Star Game. Every year, fans can only shake their heads at the same scenario: the AL prevails, while the NL loses despite possessing many superstars. But last night, in Atlanta, that “curse” was broken by the hands of Dave Roberts – the talented strategist of the Dodgers.

Roberts did not simply lead, he “designed” the victory. From the way he distributed the bullpen, the courage to put his trust in young names like Elly De La Cruz, to the decision to “break the card” in the 7th inning with a strategic pinch-hit – all proved: he deserves to be the greatest architect of the 2025 All-Star night.

Dodgers dominate the All-Star: Total domination
Not only Doc, the Dodgers lineup included 5 official players, including: Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Shohei Ohtani, Will Smith and Bobby Miller – the most in the whole league. Of which, Ohtani and Freeman both had decisive RBIs, putting NL ahead after the 5th inning. A source from ESPN even called this year’s All-Star night “The Dodgers Show in the guise of the National League”.

Coach Criticized as Hero
Just two months ago, Roberts was being questioned about the Dodgers’ performance this season – especially after losing streaks to the Padres and Cardinals. However, this victory was his strongest response yet. Speaking after the game, Roberts choked up:

“I didn’t do this for myself. I did it for the NL, for the Dodgers, and for all the fans who have waited so long.”

Long-term impact – Dodgers “igniting” a World Series run?

With momentum on the rise, many experts believe the Dodgers will enter the second half of the season with fire in their hearts. There is no doubt that if Roberts can lead the NL to an All-Star victory, he can also lead the Dodgers to an eighth World Series championship.

A seemingly entertaining All-Star game has become a historical symbol. Dave Roberts and the Dodgers didn’t just win—they restored pride to an entire league. And if you thought this was just a friendly, look at the look in Roberts’ eyes as he pumped his fist amid the fireworks: it was the look of a man who had just made history.
