After playing the witch Hermione in the hit Harry Potter series, actress Emma Watson has just officially accepted her first role in the film My Week With Marilyn about the legendary Marilyn Monroe.
The film is based on the diary of Colin Clark, Marilyn Monroe’s assistant when she came to London to film The Prince and The Showgirl in 1956. The diary only recorded what happened in 9 days but Clark wrote very emotionally.
In the film, Emma Watson plays Lucy, a dresser for the actress Marylin Monroe and has special feelings for Colin – the author of the diary. Her role is described as someone with an “angel kiss”. Week With Marilyn promises to have many romantic scenes with Emma Watson.
The legendary Marilyn Monroe will be played by Michelle Williams. Meanwhile, Branagh will play the male lead Olivier. In addition, the film also has the participation of Judi Dench, Dominic Cooper. Redmayne will play Colin, the author of the diary. The film will be shot at Pinewood Studios in October 2010.
Emma Watson has now completed filming for the final Harry Potter film and is continuing her studies at Brown University. The first film in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will be released on November 19, 2010.
