She may have lost in court but Rebekah Vardy is determined to have the “final say” in the Wagatha Christie saga.
It’s claimed the mum-of-five, wife of Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy, is “still furious” a judge ruled in Coleen Rooney’s favour two years ago but is “still determined to get one over on Coleen, one way or another.”
It’s been five years since Coleen’s accusation of Rebekah leaking stories about her to the media sent shockwaves through the celebrity world. The infamous Wagatha Christie trial in 2022 saw Coleen emerge victorious after Rebekah’s libel claim was dismissed, but the saga continues.
The drama escalated last week as the WAGs returned to court over Coleen’s £1.8 million legal bill. Rebekah, ordered to cover 90% of Coleen’s costs, disputed the “sheer magnitude” of the charges, alleging they included a substantial bill for one of Coleen’s lawyers to stay at a luxury London hotel, complete with a food and mini-bar tab.
However, Coleen’s lawyer countered that the allegations about hotel expenses were “factually incorrect”. He also argued that the costs could have been reduced if Rebekah had “conducted this litigation appropriately”. In another win for Coleen, a judge ruled that her lawyers had not committed any misconduct and it was “not appropriate” to reduce her legal bill. Rebekah was also ordered to pay Coleen an additional £100,000, with a total settlement to be determined next year.
However, a source close to Rebekah, 42, has revealed to OK! magazine that she is far from done with her feud against Coleen, 38. According to the insider: “Becky can’t help herself and she is determined to get the final say in all of this. She is still furious that the judge ruled in Coleen’s favour initially, as she insists she didn’t do it. She’s upset at this latest ruling, but she’s not letting it get her down as she’s determined Coleen and her team won’t get away with this,” adding that Rebekah is planning her next move.

The source continued: “There will be another hearing next year where the final bill will be decided and she will make sure her team goes all out to ensure she doesn’t pay Coleen’s full bill. She won’t let this go. Becky has got a thick skin and doesn’t care what people are saying. The £100,000 she was ordered to pay was less than Coleen’s team wanted, so Becky doesn’t see it as a huge loss. She won’t be put off by this and she is still determined to get one over on Coleen, one way or another.”
Meanwhile, Coleen has been in the spotlight with the release of her Disney Plus documentary, The Real Wagatha Story, where she and her husband Wayne, 38, spoke publicly about the scandal for the first time. Coleen has also been featured in Vogue interviews and has written a book, ‘My Account,’ keeping her at the centre of attention.
The insider revealed that despite Rebekah’s recent low profile, the Leicester City footballer’s wife isn’t planning to retreat from the limelight any time soon. “Many people thought that Becky would just disappear from the public eye after the court case and while she’s taken some time away, she recently told her Instagram followers that she was preparing for her comeback.
