Oswald Peraza replaced Chisholm at third base in the bottom of the fifth inning Wednesday after Chisholm had walked and gone first to third on a double in the top of the frame.

He appeared to be stretching out his legs while standing on third base, and the Yankees later said he had left groin tightness.

On Tuesday night, Chisholm was forced to leave the game in the seventh due to neck tightness an inning after colliding with third baseman Maikel Garcia’s knee on a steal.

Chisholm took exception with Garcia’s tag on the play, but there was no carryover into Wednesday’s game.

The bigger concern was Chisholm’s health.

He missed all of May with an oblique strain before returning on June 3.

He came into Wednesday batting 9-for-25 (.360) with four steals in seven games since coming back from the IL and drew two walks against Royals lefty Kris Bubic before exiting.
