Indian Teen with Rare Condition Sets Guinness World Record for Hairiest Face with 201 Hairs per Centimeter

Lalit Patidar, an 18-year-old from India, has achieved a Guinness World Record for the hairiest face, boasting an impressive 201.72 hairs per square centimeter.

Born with hypertrichosis, a rare condition that causes excessive hair growth, Patidar has 95% of his face covered in hair. Only around 50 documented cases of congenital hypertrichosis have been recorded since the Middle Ages, according to Guinness World Records.

“I am speechless,” Patidar said after receiving the recognition in February. “I don’t know what to say because I’m very happy to get this recognition.”

Despite his pride, Patidar has faced challenges due to his appearance. He recalled being teased and even feared by classmates when he first started school. However, as people got to know him, they realized he was no different from anyone else.

“They were scared of me, but when they started knowing me and talking to me, they understood I was not so different from them,” he shared.

Patidar has embraced his unique appearance and built a strong social media presence, amassing over 260,000 followers on Instagram. He also appeared on the Italian show Lo Show dei Record, where his facial hair was officially measured.

On March 8, he shared his achievement on Instagram, proudly captioning a photo with his certificate: “Proud of me.”

While some have suggested he shave his facial hair, Patidar remains confident in his identity. “I tell them that I like how I am and I don’t want to change my look,” he stated.

His followers showed overwhelming support, with many congratulating him and calling him an inspiration. One user commented, “It’s the way you look. No problem for us, and you should have love instead of bullying.” Another wrote, “[You] are my hero.”

Patidar’s story stands as a testament to self-acceptance and confidence, proving that embracing one’s uniqueness can turn challenges into triumphs.
