The United States has a long history of mysterious and unexplained sightings leading many to believe in the existence of UFO’s and alien beings
A new study has mapped out UFO sightings across the US and detailed where you’re most likely to have an extra terrestrial encounter.
Just in time for spooky season Casino.CA has scraped over 149,000 UFO sighting entries from 1974-2024 on the National UFO Reporting Center and combined the data with social media sightings to compile a comprehensive list of which states youre most likely to spot a UFO in.
Every year countless sightings are reported across America and despite some being explained away as hoaxes or misidentifications many remain unexplained with no logical explanation. The data speaks for itself with California topping the list of destinations where aliens are ready to roam.
Heres the top 10 UFO hotspots:
California (1 UFO per 1,075 people)
Washington (1 UFO per 1,093 people)
Florida (1 UFO per 1,144 people)
Oregon (1 UFO per 1,156 people)
New York (1 UFO per 1,301 people)
Texas (1 UFO per 1,370 people)
Pennsylvania (1 UFO per 1,456 people)
Arizona (1 UFO per 1,512 people)
Colorado (1 UFO per 1,715 people)
Nevada (1 UFO per 1,740 people)
While we already know California was home to E.T. in the hit Spielberg movie, its also now recognized as the ultimate UFO hotspot. Residents have reported seeing mysterious flying objects with three orange-like lights hovering above their homes in the sunshine state.
Meanwhile, Louisiana is the state youre least likely to see a UFO, at 1 per 3,815 people. In Canada Ontario is the UFO capital with total sightings of 1 per 677 people, while Alberta is the 2nd most likely province/territory youll spot a UFO (1 for every 700 people). Newfoundland and Labrador is the province/territory youre least likely to see a UFO, at 1 for every 8,692 people.

Sightings in Ontario include everything from “orbs with twenty lights” and “black triangles moving fast” to mysterious “spherical objects.” Ontario is the clear UFO Capital of Canada. With 21,884 reported encounters making it a hotspot for extraterrestrial activity in Canada.
If you’re looking to avoid any form of alien encounter then North Dakota is the place to be with only 282 reported sightings – which equates to about 0.0004 per capita. North Dakota has the fewest UFO encounters in the country so you’re highly unlikely to get abducted by extra-terrestrial beings there.
